BIOL 207 – Human Genetics (3)
Prerequisites: high school biology or BIOL 100 or BIOL 101 or BIOL 103 equivalent. Human Genetics is an introductory course appropriate for non-science majors or those interested in healthcare, social, or research related fields. This course provides an introduction to the principles of inheritance in humans, including the structure, organization, function, and regulation of DNA, genes, and chromosomes; the molecular and biological basis of genetics and inheritance; sources of variation; expression of genetic information; population genetics and human evolution; the social, ethical, and legal impacts of genetic data and technologies.
