NURS 263 – Health Care in NYC (3)
This course is offered to those interested in exploring the historical and contemporary health care issues in NYC. The intent is to enrich and broaden insights into the delivery of health care in a large metropolitan area. Participants will meet and exchange ideas with their health care peers, explore issues involved in delivering health to more than 8 million people, and consider factors involved with a large multi-cultural population. The course will consist of 5 weeks of online study followed by 5 days in NYC. Learning activities will include visits to historic and contemporary sites that are relevant to health care in the city. The impact of culture on health care will be considered with walking tours of China Town, Little Italy, and other neighborhoods. Course consists of five weeks on-line instruction then five days travel in NYC.
