- Prerequisites: Adult, Child, and Infant CPR certification by American Heart Association or American Red Cross CPR for Health Professionals. All clinical requirements are met prior to starting the course. ENGL 101 or concurrent enrollment in ENGL 101. Corequisites: NURS 111 and BIOL 100, BIOL 203, or BIOL 204. Fundamentals of Practical Nursing teach basic nursing concepts applied to the care of diverse patients with common, well-defined stable healthcare needs. These fundamental concepts are used when learning nursing skills in the skills laboratory. Nursing knowledge, skills, and beginning clinical judgment are used when caring for patients in a long-term care setting.
